Models Own Beetlejuice Collection...

Hi everyone, first of all apologies for the amount of photos that are in this post. I spent a while taking all of these photos and editing them to get the true colours out. 


  The Beetlejuice Collection first consisted of five polishes but three more were released a few months back for Spring/Summer. The mini polish was part of a mini trio and was only available in that size. 


 So here we go............

Left - Right: Pink Cocktail, Copper Pot, Tropical Sun, Indian Ocean, Pinky Brown, Purple Blue, Aqua Violet, Golden Green, Emerald Black.

Pink Cocktail

Pink Cocktail

Pink Cocktail is a bright neon pink with a purple/blue duochrome. It also has a slight silver glitter running through it. I applied three coats for this swatch but I could still see the tips of my nails so I reckon a fourth would do the job. 

Copper Pot

Copper Pot

Copper Pot is a bronze polish with a gold/green duochrome. This swatch is with three coats which is pretty opaque. I found this colour to be very similar to Propper Copper or Bronze Rage but it is the green in the duochrome that makes it different.

Tropical Sun

Tropical Sun

This swatch is with three coats although it could probably do with four. It is a sheer coral base with a gold duochrome. When looking at it in the bottle it looked like a combination of Golden Peach and Fuzzy Peach although Tropical Sun does have silver micro-glitter in it which the other two don't have.

Indian Ocean

Indian Ocean

Indian Ocean is probably the least opaque of all of the Beetlejuice polishes although it is the most gorgeous in the bottle. Don't you hate it when that happens :( It is a blue base with a pink/green duochrome and a silver/pink shimmer. The swatch was three coats and I can clearly see the whites of my nails. I like to use this over a different base colour as it adds a lovely blue/pink shimmer to my nails.

Pinky Brown

Pinky Brown

This is a polish that is impossible to photograph. It is a shimmery brown base with a pink glitter/shimmer and is almost like a jelly consistency. I say it's impossible to photograph because I could not get a photo that captured the brown/gold qualities of it. You can sort of see it in the bottom photo (on the left side of the bottle) but apart from that you're just going to have to see if you can look at this beauty in stores. Oh as before this swatch is three coats.

Purple Blue

I think that this is my favourite of the Beetlejuice polishes. It is a black 'jelly' base with purple and blue micro-glitter in it. I think it is gorgeous, beautiful, stunning... there are just no words to describe it. Three coats of this beauty and PHWOAR! It's just amazing to look at especially when light hits it.

Aqua Violet

This is a blue based polish with a purple/navy duochrome. It was opaque after three coats as in the above swatch and I think that this is a basic duochrome polish but lovely nonetheless.

Golden Green

When pictures of this polish were first released a lot of people were saying that it looked similar to Chanel-Peridot. Now I don't have that polish so I can't compare them but I do love this colour. It is an emerald green base with gold/light green duochrome and I think it is a gorgeous colour. It's opaque in three coats aswell.

Emerald Black

Apart from Indian Ocean this was probably the least impressive of the Beetlejuice collection. It's very similar to Barry M - Racing Green in that it is a black base with dark green shimmer/duochrome. It looks black all of the time unless there is some kind of bright light shining directly on to it. It was opaque in two coats although the above swatch has three and as I'm not one for very dark polishes this was not one of my favourites.

So there you go....all of the Models Own Beetlejuice polishes in one post.

Bring on the summer...

Hi everyone,


  So I've now finished my 2nd year of Uni for summer and I'm looking forward to having some chill time. Unfortunately though my work has had to let me go due to a lack of hours and blah blah blah so long story short, I'm not going to have enough money to get half the things I wanted to buy and try out over summer. Some of the things on my wish list were Revlon Lip Butters, BB Creams and a pair of white Converse :(
  I'm going to go on a job hunt though so hopefully I should be able to get something sorted so I can start spending haha! 
  Until then though I'm probably going to do a few posts about my make up collection and storage :s let me know what you think. 
  Yeah so I shall try and get another post up on Sunday :)

Fail...

I have to say I have been a massive fail this year! I said I was going to try and blog everyday and that just hasn't happened....FAIL!
  I think my next challenge is to try and do at least one blog every week :S
I'm hoping to maybe do like mini makeup/nail polish collections as that will be an easy way to get photos and words up lol.
  I shall start taking photos tomorrow and hopefully have a follow up blog.

Pin head...

Hi everyone just thought I'd share a sort of hair tutorial (not really but anyways) that helped to get texture and curl in my hair overnight. All I did was take like 1-2 inch sections of hair, wrap them around my fingers and pin them to my head. I did that with all of my hair...

I did this while my hair was dry and then the next morning after a shower and make up I took all of the grips out and this is what I ended up with.

I then styled my hair and put the front up and I really liked the light curls it made as it added texture and volume without me having to use any heat or products apart from a little bit of hairspray.

Then it rained ....

Haha I was gutted that it all fell out but there's still a wave and a bit of texture in it so I guess it's alright.

Stupid Sky...

Hi guys,
I'm getting really annoyed at the fact that at my new house that I've currently lived in for 4 weeks STILL doesn't have internet! We've phoned umpteen times and now we're waiting for a new router which could then take anywhere between 4 and 14 days to activate :(
The only places I have internet are at Uni and at our friends house but I always forget to write on here.
I wanted to start doing weekly youtube videos but I can't do that either :( I'm going to try and get a Halloween tutorial up hopefully before the end of the week but I don't know yet. It should definately be up by the end of next week.
I'm going to be doing Sally from the Nightmare Before Christmas as that's what I'm being for Halloween with the boyfriend going as Jack!
I'm also going to have to practice doing my mums, sisters, friends, cousins, dads and boyfriends makeup on myself so I might upload those aswell.
My mums going as a scary Alice in Wonderland and my dads going as a "Bad Hatter"
My sister and my cousins girlfriend are going as dead cheerleaders so I need to practice that aswell.
And my cousin is going as a vampire which is pretty simple but I shall practice anyway.

So Halloween is going to be very busy for me as I have to do makeup for 6 people plus me and I'll probably have about 4 or 5 hours to do it in for a party on the 29th.

Right I think I've written enough for now. I'm in uni tomorrow so I shall try and come up with something interesting to put on this blog for then. We shall see.

Annoyed.com...

I've been so busy the past few days with swimming and work and trying to get all of my mums birthday things ready and arghhh!
Just found out aswell that the house I'm supposed to be moving into on Weds has no tv or internet...the tv will be coming in on Friday and we won't have any internet until the Weds after! :( Upset is not the word haha. I can still write posts on my phone though so it should be fine!

Right sleep, it's the mothers big day tomorrow so gotta get prepared for that :D

Babysitting...

Hey everyone,

I promise i will start getting some pictures up but at the minute I'm having some difficulties with my camera so you're just going to have to put uP with me writing a lot and waffling haha! Today i went and bought the rest of the things for my mums birthday and I also took little Leo to the vet for a check up and he is ace!
I'm writing this with half closed eyes as me and the boyfriend have just got back from babysitting his 3 year old niece where I was on bedtime story duty haha! I've never babysat for anyone before but luckily she's a very good little girl so it was easy peasy :D

Right bed time, I shall try and get the camera issues sorted out by tomorrow evening after work,

New Stuff...

So today I went shopping with the mother to get the essentials for Uni and to also do a bit of window shopping of course. I also went to Aqua Fit which I highly recommend although my body is now paying the price for two days of exercise in a row :(. I'm feeling pain I never knew I could have before haha! Erm not really got much else to say...I got my boots which I ordered from Desire Clothing but I shall do a whole post about them very soon :D So exciting!!! Right off to get some shut eye so night peoples ... zzzzzzz

Let's Get Back on Track...

You know when sometimes you sit in bed and think about the things you used to do that made you happy, yeah?
Well I was doing this a little while ago and I suddenly remembered this blog haha! I remember sitting down and typing and just being able to say whatever I wanted to so I feel like I should start this up again. It took me a while to remember my password and how everything works but I'm going to try and make an effort with this. I feel like so much has happened since the last time I wrote a blog I mean I'm just about to start my second year of Uni, I've got a little puppy dog, and my collection of nail varnish has almost doubled (which means my bank balance is still very low so at least something's stayed the same). It's the 14th today and I'm heading back to Uni in a weeks time so my goal for myself is to write something, even just a sentence, on this blog everyday! I understand that it will probably be difficult but it's something I want to do, for a year hopefully just so I can look back and read about what I've done :).

So today is the start, well technically it's 2am in the morning so I'll probably do another post later and who knows maybe there will be some pictures or videos to look forward to haha!

I FOUND IT!!!!!!

GOSH Holographic (no.549) I got the last one in my local Superdrug at the Trafford Centre in Manchester and OMG it's amazing I must've spent about 20 minutes just staring at my nails haha! It was £2.50 which is great and I am on a mission to find another one for a giveaway when I have more followers :)

All nails have "Innocent" on them and my ring finger has "Glitter Glam" over the top. ACE!

ELF Haul...

I placed my very first order with ELF last week and I am sooooo happy with the products I got. I saw that some of the nail varnishes were 33% off and as I'm becoming a little bit of a Nailaholic I got them all. I also got the Natural Lash Kit as I needed a new pair of lashes and for £1.50 I can't complain about them. The last thing I got was the Contouring Blush And Bronzing Powder. I've heard quite a few people mention this as one of the good products from ELF so I thought I'd try it out. Anyways I ordered the products on a Saturday night and it arrived the Thursday after which I thought was good considering they don't sort through orders until Monday :D. So the products were nicely packaged in bubble wrap and nothing was broken so yeah I will definately be placing an order from them again. Here are the photos of what I got.

The cardboard packaging of the Contouring Blush And Bronzing Powder (Sorry it's not the right way round guys)

The matte plastic packaging for the product. I liked this as it's very sleek and slim so fits very well into my bag :)

(All the pictures are coming up sideways and I'm not sure why) But these are the blush and the bronzer and I have to say that I love these. They have a bit of shimmer but I don't mind too much and they go on nice and smoothly. 10/10 :D

Nail Polish 1 of 8 this is "Glitter Glam" and it's a very sheer gold glitter which looks great over a base colour but I'm guessing that with about 3 coats it'd look fab on it's own :)

This is "Twinkle" and it's a very (unfortunately) sheer clear polish with rainbow glitters in it. I don't think you could wear this on it's own as it is very sheer but over a base colour it's pretty.

This is "Party Purple" and it only takes 2 coats to be completely opaque so I likey :D It's a dark purple with very fine silver glitter in it.

This colour is "Metal Madness" and it's a gunmetal grey with very fine rainbow glitter in it. Again this only takes 2 coats to look good but this polish is one that dissapointed me because of the brush...

As you can see the brush seemed just worn and distressed and no matter what I tried it won't straighten out so it makes applying the polish very difficult as it just gloops up on the end and all drops on to the nail :(

2 coats of "Mint Cream" and I am good to go. The picture makes it seem a lot more blue than it is in real life but it is a true mint green and I love it.

This is "Desert Haze" and it is a lovely brown/nude colour. I likey very much and again 2 coats :)

"Lilac Dream" takes about 3 coats to be completely opaque but when it is it's a really pretty polish

THE most perfect light nude shade ever! 2/3 coats and it's done. It'd be great for a french manicure but I like it on it's own. My favourite polish that I got :)

Last but not least are the lashes. I haven't tried them yet but for what I can tell they look like they will be nice :)

So that's my ELF haul if anybody has any suggestions of other things I should get from them then feel free to leave it in a comment.
